What Is Family Medicine?

The specialty of family medicine is centered on lasting, caring relationships with patients and their families. Family physicians integrate the biological, clinical and behavioral sciences to provide continuing and comprehensive health care. The scope of family medicine encompasses all ages, sexes, each organ system and every disease entity. What About Our Family Health Department?

Our family physicians provide counseling, preventative health care, immunizations, and physical examinations.  We provide comprehensive evaluations for a wide range of problems which include both clinic and hospital care.

Many of our physicians have special interests and expertise in individual fields, and many of our family physicians are board certified in family medicine and maintain continuing education. Harvard Family Physicians is family medicine.
